"We have visited Los Porticos twice now. First in 2007 and then again this year. Los Porticos is being developed in a most gorgeous setting, fronting the turquoise Caribbean with miles of white sand beach. You can snorkel right off the  beach, or just kick back in a hammock. The vegetation surrounding the resort is lush, and tropical flowers, palms and birds abound. You may even spot an elusive iguana sunning himself. The atmosphere at Los Porticos is relaxed and welcoming. The locals are most gracious and freindly. The villas at Los Porticos are exquisitely designed and decorated. "When we started to think about a place other than Canada in which to spend winters, Belize emerged as the ideal location – English is the official language (so we can read documents!) and as it is a member of the British Commonwealth the legal system is based on at least similar tenets to what we’re familiar with.  We went to have a look December 2007, and although it was a little earlier than we’d planned to buy, we did buy as we were very impressed by Los Porticos; liked the size of the units; the fit and finish is great; and we really liked the fact that it is being developed by an Alberta couple who now live there full time. They are in essence, building a community that they want to live in. The fact that Placencia is a bit more ‘rural’ than the tourist hot spots in Belize.. was also appealing. We wanted to be near and part of a community, not living isolated in a totally self contained resort. We visited again in December 2008, and were REALLY pleased with how things have progressed, and having now looked further at other property in the Caribbean, feel it is excellent value for the money.  Last time we were back, we went to look at the places nearby that we had compared a year ago, and the progress at Los Porticos is commendable relative to the other developments.  We are really looking forward to taking possession early in 2009!"

"We purchased a condo at Los Porticos in Placencia Belize for many reasons: the area's beauty, its peacefulness, the design and quality of the condo and property construction (and especially the incredibly spacious decks), and its proximity to the beach. We appreciate the developers' committment to preserving the natural flora and fauna of the area. We also appreciate that fact the the property developers are Canadian (and from Edmonton - so if they can build in Edmonton, they can build anywhere!). Belize law does not permit buildings more than four stories on beachfront property so we're guaranteed the area will not come to resemble a Cancun. We also like it that Belize adheres to British common law, that foreigners can own property, and that the country is politically safe. We see Belize as being eco-friendly and believe that this makes it attractive to potential renters as well."

"I was first made aware of Los Porticos through friends of ours in the Edmonton Area. We purchased our unit sight-unseen based on the information provided by Sandra and those who had visited the Placencia area. We had our first visit to Los Porticos at Christmas-time 2009-2009 and were absolutely amazed by the natural surrounding Los Porticos and also with the quality and luxury of our Condominium. The beach is the best in Placencia and the pool is fantastic.
